GW33 captain picks are spilt between single gameweek players and double gameweek players. With seven teams doubling and thirteen teams playing once this gameweek, FPL managers are in dilemma.
In this article we’d be looking at the best gameweek 33 captain picks and we’d be deciding whether to captain a double gameweek player or a single gameweek player.

What double gameweek player should you captain
There are a lot of double gameweek captain choices in gameweek 33. The likes of Maddison, Cornet, Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Fabian Schar are all decent captain picks this gameweek.
GW33 captain picks: James Maddison

If you decide to captain Maddison this gameweek, you’d be going for a player who has two really good games, a player in decent form and a player whose team is in good form.
James Maddison is a player who has stepped up for Leicester in Jamie Vardy’s absence. He is Leicester’s second top scorer with eight goals and as also registered eight assists this season.
Leicester play against Newcastle and Everton two pretty winnable games. The game against Everton is one we’d be looking target.
Everton are not so great defensively and have conceded 11 goals in their last 4 games. You’d expect a player like Madison to perform against Everton.
GW33 captain picks: Maxwell Cornet
Maxwell Cornet is another good captain pick this gameweek. Burnley play against West Ham and Southampton two of the worst defences in the last six gameweeks.
We all know Burnley are not great offensively and captaining Cornet might be a bit of a risk this gameweek. However, if you want to go for a Burnley asset Cornet is the best pick.
He is the one who carries the most attacking threat and he’s most likely to get a goal for Burnley.
GW33 captain picks: Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo
Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo are also players you could give the captain armband to if you have them.
Man united face Norwich and Liverpool this gameweek, it really is a tricky gameweek for them. It’s not a bad idea to give the armband to one of Cristiano Ronaldo or Bruno Fernandes most especially when they play Norwich at home.
Man united have not been great in recent weeks and that’s one reason I’d stick to single gameweek players if I didn’t have united assets.
But if you’re on a free hit and you have united assets in your team, then Ronaldo or Bruno Fernandes are good captain picks.
One good thing is that Manchester united do create chances and you’d expect they’d create chances against Norwich.
This makes Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo good options as they’re always in the thick of the action.
GW33 captain picks : Fabian Schar and Kasper Schmeichel
If you’d like to go for very differential assets then Kasper Schmeichel and Fabian Schar are good picks this gameweek.
Kasper Schmeichel has been in good form and in his last five games he has saved a penalty, picked up five bonus points, collected 27 points, made 20 saves and kept two cleansheets. He’s one to consider if you’d want to go for a really differential pick.
Fabian Schar has also been great he’s scored two goals already this season and Newcastle look like they can keep cleansheets as well.
He plays Leicester and Crystal Palace at home and we’d be hoping they can get a clean sheet or two this week.
Single gameweek captain picks : Son, Kane and Salah
For single gameweek players it’s pretty straight forward you have your Liverpool, Spurs and Man city assets to pick from.
What makes this week captaincy a dilemma is because of the fixtures this single gameweek players have. Liverpool play against Manchester United a team they beat 5-0 in the reverse leg, Spurs and Man city also come up against Brighton another team that has not been great and you’d expect in-form Spurs and Man city to put a couple past them.
We’re not going to bore you with the stats of the single gameweek players and that’s because we all know how incredible Kane, Son, Salah, Trent Alexander- Arnold, Joao Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne have been all season. They’ve been the most in-form players in the game.
The big question is who should we go for a single gameweek player or a double gameweek player?
If I had to pick one I’d say a single gameweek player is a much better captain pick this gameweek and that’s because of their form and the momentum these teams and players have.
If you also look at the fixtures for teams that have a double gameweek, it’s kinda tricky as many of them have one good fixture and another not so great fixture.
That being said, if we did have to pick a single gameweek player, it would be Son. His form and performances in his last five games have been great. And for double gameweek players, it’d be between Cornet and Madison. But because of Maddison’s fixtures, we’d go with him this gameweek.
