10 most popular transfers in GW14
Before, we get into it, letโs take a look at some of the most popular transfers FPL managers are making this week:

From the image above, we can see what the 10 most popular transfers are this gameweek. A lot of managers are making moves early on and are trying to get in players who have done well in GW13 or players that have really nice fixtures.
What we want to do now in the remainder of this article, is rank these popular transfers and then share our opinion on which transfers would be great for you this gameweek.
Some important things to keep in mind before making transfers
Hereโs a useful and pretty helpful post byย @RegretFpl, he has taken his time to provide pretty useful stats that can help you as you decide on which FPL assets to bring into your team.
Hereโs a nice fixture ticker done byย fpltips__ย , they have re-arranged every teams fixture based on difficulty from now until the World Cup break.
This now gives us an idea of players that have nice fixtures from GW14-16, these are the teams we’re looking to target this gameweek.
GW14 transfer tier-list

The best player to buy GW14
1. Kevin De Brunye
If you do have the funds and money required to get in a player like De Brunye this gameweek, then you should go for it. He and Man City have three fixtures with an FDR(fixture difficulty rating) of 2.
If you do compare his fixtures, with other premium assets like Kane and Salah, you’d find out that KDB has much better set of fixtures and he’d be a good player to pair up with Erling Haaland.
Man City have also just qualified to the next round of the UCL and that’s an added bonus for KDB, as he’d now be rested during UCL nights. This means that KDB would probably start the next three Premier League games that Man City have.
The question though, that most FPL managers have is, should you sell Salah for De Brunye? Yes, right now that would be a good move to make.
De Brunye and Man City are in much better form than Salah and Liverpool. De Brunye is also very involved in pretty much all of City’s attacks and his numbers prove that as well – the Belgian man has 9 assists and 2 goals already this season.
If you do want to make that swap from Salah to KDB, then you should do it. KDB has better set of fixtures, he’s in better form and he plays for a much better team as well.

2. Phil Foden
Phil Foden is another player that would be a great addition or transfer-in this gameweek. He’s much cheaper than KDB and he also has the same set of fixtures that KDB has.
If you don’t want to take Mo Salah out and you still want to have some Man City cover, then going for a much cheaper Man City player in Foden, is a good shout.
The only issuse with going for a player like Foden is the fact that he could get rotated. We saw that happen in GW13, when Pep benched him and played Riyad Mahrez.
Foden is not as nailed-on as De Brunye and that’s something you want to keep in mind before making this sort of transfer. We do expect him to start at least two of Man City’s next three Premier League games.
Foden is a really good player and if he’s one of those on your radar then you should go for him. He is a player who has an eye for goal and he could get an assist as well.
There are not that many better players in that 8 million price bracket so if you do have the funds then go for it. We’d talk about other midfield options below and we hope it’d help you decide on which midfielder you want to get.

Great transfers for your GW14 team
Well, if you don’t want to go for De Brunye or Foden, here are some nice players that would be great transfers this gameweek:
- Miguel Almiron
- Kierian Trippier
- Bukayo Saka
- Saliba
- Toney
In this list of great transfers, we have two midfielders that would be great Kevin De Brunye and Phil Foden alternatives, and that’s Almiron and Bukayo Saka.
Bukayo Saka
Saka would be a great Phil Foden alternative, because Saka is one that’s guaranteed to play all three games for Arsenal. He’s also on penalties and he’s playing a little more central these days.
The fact that Saka is on penalties and is guaranteed to play more games than Foden, might make him a more appealing pick this week. The only thing that might be a bit of an issue, is the fact that Arsenal face Chelsea in GW15.
That might not be so much of an issue because we all know Saka loves a game against Chelsea and if we’re expecting Foden to play two out of three games, then we think the Chelsea fixture for Saka does in fact even it out.
If we had to pick one, we’d go for Phil Foden. Foden is not a must buy, and that’s because there are much better alternatives.

Almiron
Almiron is another really good midfield pick and he’d be a good player to get, if you’re looking for a cheap midfielder who is on form and has good fixtures – no midfielder in the 5million price bracket is currently playing better than Almiron.
If you’re looking to downgrade one of your more expensive midfielders, then the best option is Almiron. He has two fixtures that have an FDR of two and then in GW16 he plays Chelsea.
If you don’t feel comfortable with him playing Chelsea in GW16, then it’d be nice to have another cheap alternative in your team and that could be Gordon or Iwobi from Everton.

The best defenders to buy GW14
If you’re looking for good defenders for your FPL team, then:
- Saliba
- Trippier
- White
These are some nice budget defenders that have pretty good fixtures and play for teams that are also quite solid defensively. So if you’re looking to free up some funds in your defense, then you could go for these players:
- Dalot
- Coady
- Mykolenko

The best forward to buy
In our tier-list we’ve got three forwards that we think are worth considering this gameweek and they’re Kane, Mitrovic and Toney.
They are basically the three best forwards in the game at the moment, so if you looking to go down that route, then they’re good options.
One thing to note though, is that Mitrovic has the worst set of fixtures out of the three. He plays Man City and Man United in GW15 and 16 respectively.
