As you create your GW30 wildcard team, here are a couple of things you should keep in mind:

• First, you want to try as much as possible to select players guaranteed a place in the first eleven of their teams.
• You want to keep the long-term in mind when selecting players for your GW31 wildcard team.
• You want to try to have a solid bench, in case of rotations, injuries, and upcoming double and blank gameweeks.
• You want to keep in mind that GW32 is a blank gameweek for Brighton, Man United, Man City, and Chelsea.
• And GW34 is a double for Brighton, Fulham, Liverpool, Man City, Man United and West Ham.

Teams with good fixture difficulty ratings from GW31-37

From the fixture ticker, here are some of the teams that you should be looking to target as you select players for your GW31 wildcard:

1. Liverpool
2. Crystal Palace
3. Manchester United
4. Manchester City
5. Newcastle

Teams that blank and don’t play in FPL GW32

Here are the teams that don’t have any fixtures in the Premier League gameweek 32

1. Manchester City
2. Manchester United
3. Chelsea
4. Brighton

Teams that double in FPL GW34

As for the teams that double in GW34, we have:

1. Brighton
2. Fulham
3. Liverpool
4. Man City
5. Man United
6. West Ham

Now that we know what teams have great fixtures, teams that blank in gameweek 32 and teams that double in GW34, it is now time for us to create our GW31 wildcard team. We’d be using all these details to create an FPL team that’d get us past the upcoming blank and double gameweeks.

GW31 wildcard team without a free hit in GW32

If you don’t have your free hit chip available for GW32, here is a nice template you can follow. You can target payers from Arsenal, Fulham, Liverpool and West Ham assets. Targeting player from those teams would allow you to navigate through blank gameweek 32 and also leave you with a solid team in subsequent gameweeks.

Here’s how this GW31 wildcard template team would look like in gameweek 32:

You can see that if you follow this template, you’d be able to field a team of 11 players. You also have top FPL assets from the teams that play in the blank gameweek. This would leave you with a solid team that’d be able to compete with those free hitting in GW32.

While this team might look great in GW32, it’d still need some work for it to be optimal for double gameweek 34. The reason is that we don’t have Brighton and Man United assets in here. So a good strategy would be to use your free transfer to target the likes of Mitoma, March, Rashford and a Man United defender.

If you do that, you would be left with a team that looks like this:

Here’s what this team would like in GW34. To have this team, we’ve made two changes and the two changes we made are Martinelli to Mitoma and Olise to Rashford (depending on his fitness). Doing this leaves us with a team of ten doublers in GW34 which is quite impressive considering this is all because of our GW31 wildcard.

GW31 wildcard team with a free hit in GW32

If you have a free hit to deploy in GW32, then you can simply go all in on Man City, Brighton, Liverpool and Man United assets as you play your gameweek 31 wildcard. As you can see in our gameweek 31 template, we’re no longer being cautious when selecting Brighton, Man City and Man United assets.

Doing this puts you in a really good position in gameweek 34 when all these players play twice. Here’s what this team would look like in gameweek 34.
