- You want to keep the long-term in mind when selecting players for your GW3 team.

Should You Wildcard In FPL GW3
Well, the answer to this question is, it depends on you and your strategy. If you have a team that comprises of injured players, low-performing players, or players whose upcoming fixtures aren’t great, then wildcarding in GW3 is a good option.
However, FPL managers tend to wildcard before big or during double gameweeks or big blank gameweeks. So, like we said earlier, it depends on your strategy as a manager.
How Many Wildcards Do You Get In FPL
You get two wildcards in a season of Fantasy Premier League (FPL). The first wildcard can be used from the start of the season until Gameweek 20. The second wildcard can be used after Gameweek 20 and remains available until the end of the season.
A wildcard allows you to make unlimited transfers within your team’s budget without incurring a point hit. This can be a very powerful tool, especially if you need to make a lot of changes to your team, such as after a poor run of form or during the international break.
It is important to note that you can only use each wildcard once in a season. Once you have used a wildcard, you cannot use it again until the next season.

GW3 Wildcard Teams
Now that we know the teams to target, here is our GW3 wildcard team, it is a team you might want to consider and take inspiration from if you’re wildcarding this gameweek.

Here is our GW3 wildcard team and in this team, we’ve decided to target players that play for teams with good fixtures from now up until GW8. We have Man City cover, Brentford cover, Brighton and Man United cover – these players are great long-term picks.
The only downside is the lack of Liverpool cover and the reason why we haven’t gone for Luiz Diaz is because of his fixture this gameweek – Liverpool face Newcastle in GW3. After comparing his fixture with that of Foden, we decided to go with Foden.

Another great thing about this draft, is the bench. On our bench, we’ve got cheap budget players that are regular starters for their individual teams. This means that when Pep decides to rotate his squad, you’d have good enough players to come off your bench.
Well, we’re pleased with this draft. However, if you want to do things differently, you could go with Alvarez up top instead of Wissa and then turn Foden to Luiz Diaz of Liverpool if you need cover from Liverpool.
The reason why we’ve not done that from the getgo, is because we’re not sure about how nailed-on Alvarez is. He could be dropped when Bernado returns. We don’t want to take that risk at the moment.

In gameweek 4, the team still looks pretty solid and there won’t be any need for you to make any transfer as your bench and starting players still have great fixtures. What we’ve done this time is to swap Watkins for Mbeumo.

GW5 is when a few teams start to have difficult games and in this wildcard team, it is Brighton’s fixtures that take a turn in GW5. In this case, there’s nothing for you to worry about because you’ve got a bench that can get you through this period. You’d also have two free transfers, so if there’s any need for you to make changes, then feel free to do so.
However, let’s keep in mind that predicting performances remains challenging. Brighton players might continue to be excellent choices, contingent upon their form and the performance of their opponents.
