FPL GW26 transfer tips: who should you buy in gameweek 26

GW26 transfer strategy: best players to buy

Every gameweek we FPL managers have to make a decision. We have to decide on who to buy, who to sell or on whether to hold onto our free transfer or not.

These are decisions we have to make on a weekly basis and so this week, we’ve decided to help and share our ideas on what players you should buy in GW26.

This is raensports GW26 transfer tips article, we hope you enjoy it and stick around to the end.

Before, we get into it, let’s take a look at some of the most popular transfers FPL managers are making this week:

FPL GW26 transfer tips: 10 most popular transfers in GW26

We can see that FPL managers are making moves early on, we can also see that they’re trying to get in some of the most in-form players, players who have double gameweeks coming up and players with pretty good fixtures.

This is the reason why there are a lot of Brentford and Brighton assets in this week’s top transfer ins. Both sides have double gameweek’s coming up, so FPL managers are looking to get players from these teams into their FPL teams.

You can find out more about the upcoming blank and double gameweeks, in this article: FPL tips: preparing for FPL 22/23 blank and double gameweeks GW22-28

The question now is, who are the best FPL assets to transfer into your team in GW26? Well, we’re about to find out.

1. FPL GW26 transfer tips: the best goalkeeper to buy gameweek 26

In terms of goalkeepers to bring into your team in GW26, here are some of the best options that you should consider:

  1. David Raya
  2. Robert Sanchez

These are two goalies with pretty good fixtures, as well as a double gameweek in gameweek 27. In GW27, Brighton, Brentford and Southampton all double and because of that we’re looking to target goalkeepers from these teams.

However, if we had to pick one of the two goalkeepers recommended, it’d be David Raya of Brentford. Here are some of the reasons why we think he’s the ideal goalie for your FPL team.

  • Double gameweek in GW27 and GW29.
  • Nailed on and a guaranteed starter for Brentford.
  • Brentford have been solid at the back this season, keeping eight clean sheets.
  • Raya also makes a ton of saves in games. In fact, no goal keeper has made more saves(100) than the Brentford goalie this season.

And lastly, you don’t want to go for the Brighton goalkeeper, because there are more attractive Brighton assets in the game. In Brighton, you have the option of Mitoma, March, Estupian and Ferguson who are much better picks than Sanchez.

While in Brentford, their best FPL assets are one of Raya, Toney or Mee. It is just more logical to go for the Brentford goalkeeper – if you’re on a wildcard or just using your free transfer, Raya is the man for you,

2. FPL GW26 transfer tips: the best defenders to buy gameweek 26

In terms of great defender picks for this gameweek, as well as long-term, we’ve got two options and they are:

  • Estupinan
  • Ben Mee

These two aren’t just great defenders for GW26, they are also great long term picks and that’s because of their great fixtures this gameweek and their upcoming double gameweeks.

However, in Robert De Zerbi’s presser, he’s hinted that March and Estupinan are carry injuries and so they won’t be available for selection.

That’s something you’d want to keep an eye on before making any moves this gameweek. If they aren’t fit to start this gameweek, then hopefully they’d be available for the double in GW27.

If you get Estupinan and Mee into your team, you won’t be looking to sell them any time soon, which is always a good thing.

Other teams and defenders that’d be great picks this gameweek, are:

  • Gabriel
  • Reece James
  • Ruben Dias

These defenders play for teams with high clean sheet odds this gameweek, so they’re worth a shout. If you also have Shaw, he still remains a great pick.

3. FPL GW26 transfer tips: the best midfielders to buy gameweek 26

As for great midfielders to buy this gameweek, here are some of the best ones out there that you should consider:

  1. Rashford
  2. Mitoma
  3. Foden

If you sold Rashford last gameweek because of his blank, then you should be looking to get the United winger back into your team once again this gameweek. Rashford is in such good form that you can’t not have him in your team.

Mitoma is another one that would be a great addition to any FPL team this gameweek. Again, with Brentford and Brighton players, it is about the long term.

With Mitoma that’s exactly what you’d be getting, a player that would be great not just for GW26, but in future gameweeks as well. Solly March and Alexis Mac Allister are great shouts as well, but we’d be backing Mitoma.

Foden is the third player that we’ve got on our list of great FPL midfielders, and that’s just because we think he’s going to be getting more game time now.

We’ve seen him perform really well in his last two games, and for that reason we think Pep would want to play him a little more so he can find some form.

With the UCL now in the picture, we think it’d be a lot easier for Pep to manage Foden and Mahrez’s minutes. If you’re looking to get a City winger, then Foden is a great shout and differential.

3. FPL GW26 transfer tips: the best forwards to buy gameweek 26

As for the best forwards to get into your team this gameweek, we’ve got a couple of suggestions and they are:

  1. Ivan Toney
  2. Watkins
  3. Evan Ferguson

Toney is without a doubt, top of the list and that’s because he has proven to be a pretty solid FPL asset this season. It is also pretty hard to ignore him because of his great fixture in GW26 and his double in GW27.

Another pretty good pick is Ollie Watkins, a man who is in great form. Watkins has returned FPL points in each of his last five games and we’d be hoping that he can continue in that vain this gameweek, as Aston Villa face Crystal Palace.

Evan Ferguson is another pretty good shout and one of the reasons why we love the idea of Ferguson, is because of how cheap he is in the game(4.6million).

He is a player that we’d recommend for FPL managers who are on a wildcard. Going for a player like him, would give you the liberty to spend more in other areas of the pitch.

He’s pretty good, he plays for a very good attacking side, he’s cheap and he has a double gameweek coming up – he is a good long-term pick.

5. 10 of the most transferred out FPL players in GW26

Well, to bring in the players we’ve talked about, you’d have to let go of others. Here is a list of the players FPL managers are looking to sell ahead of GW26:

10 of the most transferred out FPL players in GW26

Well, we agree with the moves FPL managers are making this gameweek in terms of sales. Mitrovic, Nketiah are players that we should be looking to get out of our teams. With Toney, Watkins and Ferguson being the ideal replacements for these forwards.

We also understand the reasoning behind the sale of Mahrez, De Brunye, Gakpo and Salah. Selling these players so that you can get in the likes of Foden, Saka, Rashford and Mitoma also isn’t a bad transfer strategy.
