FPL GW25 transfer tips: who should you buy in gameweek 25

GW25 transfer strategy and tips

Every gameweek we FPL managers have to make a decision. We have to decide on who to buy, who to sell or on whether to hold onto our free transfer or not.

These are decisions we have to make on a weekly basis and so this week, we’ve decided to help and share our ideas on what players you should buy in GW25.

This is raensports GW25 transfer tips article, we hope you enjoy it and stick around to the end.

Before, we get into it, let’s take a look at some of the most popular transfers FPL managers are making this week:

FPL GW25 transfer tips: 10 most popular transfers in GW24

We can see that FPL managers are making moves early on, we can also see that they’re trying to get in some of the most in-form players, players who have double gameweeks and players with pretty good fixtures.

This is the reason why there are a lot of Arsenal and Liverpool assets in this week’s top transfer ins. Both sides have double gameweek’s, so FPL managers are looking to get players from these teams into their FPL teams.

You can find out more about the upcoming blank and double gameweeks, in this article: FPL tips: preparing for FPL 22/23 blank and double gameweeks GW22-28

The question now is, who are the best FPL assets to transfer into your team in GW24? Well, we’re about to find out.

1. FPL GW25 transfer tips: the best goalkeeper to buy gameweek 25

Here are three of the best FPL goalkeepers that you should bring into your FPL team in GW25:

  1. Alisson
  2. Pickford
  3. Jose Sa

Well, if you’re on a free hit this gameweek and you’re looking to get a goalkeeper into your team, then we think that these are the three goalies you should be considering.

Alisson is the better option for us and that’s because he has a better set of fixtures than the other two goalkeepers on this list.

However, if you’re not on a free hit and you’re just looking to get a goalkeeper, then we think that you should consider these goalies as long-term picks.

  • David Raya
  • Ederson
  • Fraser Foster

Yeah we think in terms of long term picks, these are some of the best goalkeepers out there. If you take a look at their individual teams fixture difficulty ratings from GW25-31, you’d find out these goalkeepers have some of the best fixtures in the game.

We can clearly see that Brentford, Man City and Spurs have great fixtures, with good fixture difficulty ratings and so to benefit from this, we think targeting their goalies is great.

Raya is top of the list, because he has a double gameweek in GW27, so if you get him in before GW27, you won’t need to get a goalie into your team when double gameweek 27 comes around.

Another goalkeeper that would be a great pick that isn’t mentioned is Robert Sanchez of Brighton. We know that he blanks in GW25, but if you look ahead, you’d see that he has great set of fixtures coming up; including a double in GW27.

So, our goalkeeper transfer strategy, would be to have one of Kepa or Fraser Foster this week and then in later weeks, try to get one of Sanchez or Raya as your other goalkeeper.

2. FPL GW25 transfer tips: the best defenders to buy gameweek 25

When it comes to defenders this gameweek, there are a lot of pretty good options. There are great budget defenders and premium defenders that you can get into your FPL GW25 team.

Here are a couple of great FPL GW25 defender picks:

  1. Alexander-Arnold – £7.3m – 18.7% – DEF / LIV
  2. Gomez – £4.3m – 2.1% – DEF / LIV
  3. Tarkowski – £4.3m – 5.3% – DEF / EVE
  4. Robertson – £6.8m – 6.6% – DEF / LIV
  5. Dias – £5.9m – 6.2% – DEF / MCI
  6. Dawson – £4.8m – 0.9% – DEF / WOL
  7. Kilman – £4.4m – 3.9% – DEF / WOL

From our list of GW25 defender picks, you can see that we’re looking to target defenders who have great fixtures, a double gameweek and a high chance of keeping clean sheets.

We’ve also got a decent amount of budget defenders on our list and this budget defenders are essential this week, because having them would allow you to save funds and target premium assets in other positions.

If you’re on a free hit, you can check out our article: GW25 free hit team: the best players and teams to target for your gameweek 25 free hit, to see how we’re looking to set up our team this gameweek.

In terms of great long-term picks, we do think that having Liverpool defenders, most especially their full-backs isn’t a bad idea.

Liverpool have great fixtures coming up and we think that the potential for their defenders to return FPL points in coming weeks, is really high.

Having some budget Wolves defender in your team also isn’t a bad idea as well – a Kilman or Bueno would be great additions and bench fodders in the long run. You can easily play them in gameweeks where they have great fixtures, like in GW28 and 29.

In terms of Man City defenders, it is hard to decide because we know Pep would always rotate, so we think it’d be better to look elsewhere in terms of FPL defenders.

Having Shaw, Trippier, a Wolves budget defender(Kilman, Bueno), Trent and Tarkowski or Mee(since he doubles in GW27) would be great for now and in the long-term.

You can check out what teams have good clean sheet odds in our: FPL GW25 fixtures, clean sheet odds, point predictions and likely goal scorers, this would help you know what defenders to target this gameweek.

3. FPL GW25 transfer tips: the best midfielders to buy gameweek 25

In terms of midfielders, this is the week to target Liverpool midfielders. Gakpo and Salah have to be top of your FPL transfer list. Having these players not only sets you up well for GW25, it also gives you a nice captaincy option as well.

We know without a doubt, that a lot of FPL managers would be looking to captain Mo Salah this gameweek, if you want to protect your rank, you want to have him in your team at least.

Other great midfielder transfer options are, the Arsenal boys. The likes of Odegaard and Saka are great buys this gameweek as well.

We’ve got just them two because we think they’re the nailed on options. Martinelli is now looking like he is prone to rotation, because of the addition of Trossard.

If you’re on a free hit and are looking for great one week punts, then we think you could consider:

  1. Bowen
  2. Ward Prowse

These two have great fixtures which means they could deliver FPL points this gameweek.

Yeah, in terms of long-term picks, we do believe that the Liverpool boys and Arsenal midfielders are great long term transfers. A midfield of Saka, Gakpo, Odegaard, Rashford and Mitoma is a solid midfield that would be great long-term.

3. FPL GW24 transfer tips: the best forwards to buy gameweek 24

In terms of forwards to buy this gameweek, we think Darwin, Cunha, Lewin if fit and Nketiah are all pretty decent double gameweek forward picks.

The list has a good mixture of budget(Cunha), mid priced(Nketiah and Lewin) and premiumish(Darwin) forwards. Yeah, these are the forwards that we think are great buys this gameweek.

Long-term, we think that Toney would come good. However this gameweek you can’t be buying him since he blanks, but in future gameweeks you should be looking to get him in before GW27, his double gameweek.

4. The best Liverpool and Arsenal triple ups GW25

Since it’s a double gameweek, you would definitely be looking to target players from the best teams that double. This gameweek, the best that double, are: Liverpool and Arsenal – it is normal to want to go all in on assets from these teams.

Here are some of the best GW25 Liverpool and Arsenal triple ups:

  1. Trent – Gakpo – Salah
  2. Odegaard – Saka – Nketiah
  3. Trent – Gakpo – Nunez
  4. Saka – Odegaard – Gabriel

These are the players we think you should be looking to target from these teams this gameweek. We’ve got Trent – Salah – Gakpo as our best Liverpool triple up, because we think Darwin could be rotated, as Jota is now fit. In order to avoid that, we think it’s better to go for the safer picks.

With Arsenal we think the best triple up is: Odegaard, Nketiah and Saka. They are the best picks, simply because they are the nailed on assets in Arsenal, so they won’t be rotated as much as the others.

6. 10 of the most transferred out FPL players in GW25

Well, to bring in the players we’ve talked about, you’d have to let go of others. Here is a list of the players FPL managers are looking to sell ahead of GW25:

10 of the most transferred out FPL players in GW25

Well, looking at this list, if you’re on a free hit then it is a good idea to sell most of the players on here. However if you aren’t on a free hit, you might want to keep hold of the following players:

  1. Rashford
  2. Shaw
  3. Trippier
  4. Mitoma

We think that you could still hold on to these players because they’re on form and would still be great options in future gameweeks as well.

However, if you have a plan to bring these players back into your team after selling them, then you can go on to sell them.
