FPL DGW19 wildcard team: some of the best double gameweek 19 FPL teams

GW19 wildcard team

The first double gameweek of the 2022/23 FPL season is here, and we at raensports, have decided to put together a couple of pretty helpful GW19 wildcard teams.

In this article, we’d be creating three double gameweek 19 teams, we’d also be using different strategies as we create our teams.

In our first DGW 19 team, we’d be going big at the back, in the second team, we’d be investing in midfielders and lastly, in the third team, we’d be going all in on forwards.

We hope this article is helpful and that you enjoy it as well.

Some important things to keep in mind as you play your FPL wildcard in gameweek 19

As you create your GW19 wildcard team, here are couple of things you should keep in mind:

  • First, you want to try as much as possible to select players that are guaranteed a place in the first eleven of their teams.
  • You want to keep the long term in mind when selecting players for your GW19 team.
  • You want to try and have a solid bench, in case of rotations and injuries.
  • It’d also be great if you don’t over select players with double gameweeks, it’d be nice to have a balanced team.

1. GW19 wildcard team: Going big at the back

GW19 wildcard team: Going big at the back

Here’s our first wildcard draft, and in this one, we’ve decided to go big at the back in a way. We’ve gone on to get some of the best premium defenders in the game. We have the likes of Cancelo, Trippier, Shaw, Cucurella and White in our team.

According to our clean sheet odds, the defenders selected, are ones that are expected to keep clean sheets and get a form of attacking return. The truth however is, we aren’t just focusing on defenders, rather, we’re focusing on the entire team.

That’s why we’ve tried to get players that double now and also double in gameweek 20. That’s why we have Chelsea and Newcastle assets in this team, and that’s why we are also targeting Spurs and Man City assets.

Targeting these players means that when DGW20 comes around, we won’t be stranded or found wanting. Here’s what this team would like in GW20:

GW20 wildcard team: Going big at the back

We can clearly see that following this wildcard draft, would not keep you in a good place in gameweek 19, but it’d also be perfect for double gameweek 20. It’s a pretty good draft that has the long-term in mind.

2. DGW19 wildcard team: Investing in midfielders

DGW19 wildcard team: Investing in midfielders

This is another GW19 wildcard draft that could serve as inspiration to FPL managers out there. The strategy is still the same as the one we used in the first wildcard team.

The only difference though, are the players that have been selected in this wildcard team. In this one, we’ve decided to invest heavily in midfielders and so we’ve brought in the likes of De Brunye and Son.

It is up to you to decide what team and strategy you’d want to go with. If we had to pick between this one and the team above, we’d be going with the first wildcard team.

That’s because we do believe that the first one offers a lot of balance and it also has a pretty solid bench. The first team is better if you have the long-term in mind.

We’ve got Kane in there who is on form, we’ve got Shaw and Cancelo who also have double gameweek’s coming up soon. So, yeah, it’s a much better team.

3. GW19 wildcard team: Going all in on forwards

GW19 wildcard team: Going all in on forwards

This is our final GW19 wildcard team, and we know it’s quite similar to the one we picked first. The only difference here is the fact that there’s 2.8 million in the bank.

There are a couple of things you could do with it, and one of them could be to improve Ream to a Cancelo when gameweek 20 comes around, another thing you could do is to improve your midfield and look to get an extra Man City midfielder.

There are a lot of things that could be done with the money in the bank and so we’d be leaving you to decide on what you want to do.

You can always check back on our blog, as we’d be sharing more FPL tips every gameweek.

Feel free to check our captain picks article as well, we know that picking a captain this gameweek is very crucial and so we’ve made a list of single and double gameweek players that we think are great captains:
