FPL chip strategy: Upcoming Blank and Double GW25-38 Everything You Need To Know

With the season drawing to an end, FPL managers are looking to take advantage of the upcoming blank and, double gameweeks-to do that, FPL managers would need to have a good FPL chip strategy in place. In this blog post, we’d be creating the ultimate FPL chip strategy guide for gameweek 25- 38.

FPL chip strategy: What teams have blank and double gameweeks in gameweek 25

Gameweek 25 has both double and blank gameweeks. Man united and Brighton both have double gameweeks while Chelsea and Arsenal both have blank gameweeks. Chelsea do not feature in gameweek 25 because of their Club world cup duties.

FPL chip strategy: What teams have double gameweeks in gameweek 26

In big double gameweek 26 eight teams have double gameweeks and they are:

Liverpool

Arsenal

Wolves

Crystal Palace

Burnley

Watford

Spurs

Leeds

FPL chip strategy: What teams blank in gameweek 27

In gameweek 27 the following teams blank:

Arsenal

Chelsea

Liverpool

Leicester

These teams blank because Chelsea and Liverpool are playing in the Carabao cup. Something worth noting though, is that there could be a possible double gameweek for Burnley in gameweek 27. Burnley face Crystal Palace in gameweek 27 and if there were to double they could face Everton, Leicester or Villa.

FPL chip strategy: What teams blank in gameweek 30 & 33

Gameweek 30 and 33 is another gameweek with a possible blank gameweek. The teams that would be blanking in gameweek 30 and 33 would be teams that still play in the FA cup. So it’s very likely that the bigger premier league teams would be blanking in gameweek 30 and 33.

FPL chip strategy: What teams have huge double gameweek in gameweek 36 and blank in 32

Gameweek 36 is going to be a huge double gameweek. Teams whose fixtures were postponed in gameweek 30 would be having a double gameweek in 36 While the teams who play the FA cup final would blank.

FPL chip strategy one: When Should you play your various chips

When should you play your triple captain

In terms of triple captain, the best FPL chip strategy would be to play it on double gameweek 26. Why? The reason is Liverpool’s fixtures. Liverpool plays Leeds United and Norwich City in double gameweek 26 two teams with pretty leaky defense. It’s unlikely that a team would have an easier set of double gameweek fixtures from now till the end of the season. FPL managers would want to take advantage of that by captaining either Mo Salah or Trent Alexander Arnold. And if you’re an FPL manager looking for a Mo Salah triple captain alternative, click here

When should you play your bench boost

The best time to play the bench boost chip is in gameweek 36- that’s when most of the rescheduled matches would be played. Another reason is there are most likely going to be 15 teams with double gameweeks in gameweek 36. That way FPL managers would be able to field 11 players with double gameweeks and have a bench full of double gameweek players. There’s no better time to use the bench boost chip.

When should you play your Free hit

Gameweek 27 and gameweek 30 would be an ideal time for the free hit chip. With Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Leicester blanking in gameweek 27 and teams in the FA cup blanking in gameweek 30. FPL managers who brought in Arsenal and Liverpool double gameweek 26 assets would favor this FPL chip strategy as the free hit would help them scale through gameweek 27 when those assets blank.

When should you play your wildcard

Gameweek 28 is a pretty good time to play your wildcard. In gameweek 28, Chelsea, Leicester, Wolves, and Leeds all start to have good fixtures while United’s fixtures get tougher. Wildcarding in gameweek 28 also allows you to plan ahead of gameweek 30 where teams in the FA cup would be blanking.

Another alternative would be to play your wildcard in gameweek 24

Eight teams have a double gameweek in gameweek 26 and, FPL managers would be looking to get assets with double gameweeks. Gameweek 26 is the gameweek where FPL managers would be playing their triple captain. That gameweek would also see many FPL managers triple up on Liverpool assets. Here is a list of FPL assets to target:

If you’d be using this alternative it would be good to include players that would feature when there’s a blank gameweek in gw 27.

What players should you target in the upcoming blank and double gameweeks

Gameweek 26 who should you buy

Eight teams have a double gameweek in gameweek 26 and FPL managers would be looking to get asset with double gameweeks. Gameweek 26 is the gameweek where FPL managers would be playing their triple captain. That gameweek would also see a lot of managers triple up on Liverpool assets. Here is a list of FPL assets to target:

Andy Robertson

Andy Robertson is owned by 5.5% of FPL managers. The Liverpool defender is one of the most in-form players. Andy Robertson has returned a total of 23 points in his last two gameweeks and 66 points in his last eight games.

The Liverpool full-back is only behind Trent Alexandre Arnold in terms of goal scoring opportunities created amongst FPL defenders.

FPL chip strategy: target robo

The Liverpool full-back has recorded eight assists this season only teammate Trent Alexandre Arnold has more (10). If your FPL chip strategy is to play a wildcard in gameweek 24, Andy Robertson is a good differential pick. In gameweek 26, he plays Leeds United and Norwich. With a 5.5% ownership he’d be a good differential to get if you’re on a wildcard.

Trent Alexander Arnold

Arnold should be one of the first names on your team sheet in double gameweek 26. He is a Rolls Royce of an FPL asset a must-have defender. Mo Salah is the only player to have picked up more points than the Liverpool full-back. Trent Alexander Arnold is the most selected FPL asset with, 47.3% of FPL managers selecting him.

FPL chip strategy: target Trent

Arnold is the defender with the most assist (10) in FPL this season and, only Jarrod Bowen has more assists(12) than Arnold. Arnold is also a potential captain pick in double gameweek 26 though many FPL managers would be looking to captain Mo Salah Arnold is a good differential captain pick.

Regardless of your FPL chip strategy Trent Alexander Arnold should always be in your team.

Mohammed Salah

What is there to write about this man. His numbers speak for themselves the player with the most goal involvement (26). Mo Salah is an FPL gem and, he is the player majority of FPL managers would captain or triple captain in double gameweek 26.

Mo Salah faces Leeds united and Norwich two teams that concede goals. The double gameweek 26 FPL chip strategy would be to get him into your team and triple captain him.

Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal are a team who are really solid defensively they have kept a total of 10 clean sheets this season. Aaron Ramsdale is one of the reasons for that. The Arsenal shot stopper has been in really good form this season and that form has seen him go from 4.5million to 5.1 million.

Aaron Ramsdale is every FPL managers dream. A Keeper who keeps clean sheets, makes numerous saves and gets bonus points(no keeper has collected more bonus points(10) than Ramsdale). Ramsdale has picked up 92 points this season only Ederson and Sa have picked more 96.

FPL chip strategy: target Ramsdale

However, Arsenal have a double gameweek in gw26 but blank in gameweek 25 and gameweek 27 keep that in mind when making transfers. They face Wolves and Brentford in double gameweek 26. Ramsdale is one you should consider if you’re on a wildcard.

Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota is the second top goal scorer in the league this season. Jota is an FPL asset that plays out of position. He is a midfielder in the game but a forward in real life. If your FPL chip strategy is to play a wildcard, Jota is also a player to bring into your side

Only Salah and Bowen have picked up more points than Diogo Jota amongst FPL midfielders. He’s also a good alternative if you decide not to go for Andy Robertson. However, there’s a possibility that the forward might be rested as he has played every minute for Liverpool in the absence of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

Diogo Jota could also be a differential triple captain pick in double gameweek 26. No matter what your FPL chip strategy is- be sure to triple up on Liverpool assets.

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka is one FPL asset who has been going about his business quietly. Bukayo Saka is the player with the most points in Arsenal this season. He is the second top scorer (6) at Arsenal this season, only Smith has scored more (8).

Bukayo Saka is the player who carries the most goal-scoring threat in Arsenal. He’d be looking to take that form into gameweek 26, where he faces Brentford and Wolves. Over the course of the season, Saka is only behind Odegard when it comes to creativity at Arsenal.

Lacazette

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was sold this January transfer window leaving Arsenal with only two recognized strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah. Lacazette would be the obvious Aubameyang replacement which makes him a decent option.

Lacazette, valued at 8.4 million, is owned by 4.2% of FPL managers. This means he is a differential pick and would be one to consider in gameweek 26.

Arsenal and Liverpool are teams with good fixtures in double gameweek 26 and, that’s why we’d be looking to get a couple of their assets. Just remember that Arsenal and Liverpool blank in gameweek 27 so, whatever your FPL chip strategy may be, be sure you have things sorted out.

If you do go on to triple up on Liverpool and Arsenal assets in gameweek 26, the best FPL chip strategy for you would be to play your Free hit in gameweek 27 when these teams would blank.

Planning for fixture swings in gameweek 28.

While you plan your FPL chip strategy it would be nice to keep an eye on teams whose fixtures become much easier as time goes on. In gameweek 28 a couple of teams start having easier fixtures and they are:

Leicester City

Leicester city’s games starting from gameweek 28 get easier with 4 of their six games from gameweek 28-33 having an FDR of 2. It would be good to include their assets when planning for the rest of the season and have them at the back of your mind when planning your FPL chip strategy.

Leicester asset should be considered when planning your chip strategy
Leicester are amongst teams that have fixtures with good FDR

Leicester are also amongst teams that would have a decent amount of double gameweeks in the coming weeks. Their assets are one to keep an eye on.

Chelsea

Like Leicester City, Chelsea’s fixtures are good from gameweek 28 to 33. Chelsea’s FDR is two from that period and, with Chelsea having a lot of blank gameweeks, there’s a huge chance that they have double gameweeks in the coming weeks.

Your FPL chip startegy should involve getting Chelsea assets in gw28

Gameweek 28 would be a good time to start bringing in Chelsea assets. It is one to keep in mind when planning your wildcard or when planning your FPL chip strategy.

Wolves

Wolves also have good fixtures from gameweek 28-34 with, Wolves playing Crystal Palace, Leeds, Newcastle, and Burnley in that period.

Wolves fixtures get easier from gameweek 28

Gameweek 28 would be a good time to get a couple of Wolves defenders in.

Leeds

Leeds fixtures also get a litter easier from gameweek 28. And FPL managers who have sold Raphinha should be looking to get him back when gameweek 28 starts.

Your FPL chip strategy should involve getting Raphinha in gw28

Gameweek 28 would be a good time to get Leeds assets into your FPL teams.

Man uinted

In gameweek 28 Man united’s fixtures take a turn. Man United would be facing Man City, Liverpool, and Spurs from gameweek 28 – 31, and if you’ve got any Man united assets, gameweek 28 would probably be the best time to start shipping them out.

FPL chip strategy should involve selling united assets in gw28

If your FPL chip strategy involved getting Man united assets in double gameweek 25, gameweek 28 would be time to let go of some of their assets and get maybe a Chelsea, Leicester, Leeds, or Wolves asset.

That would be all on our FPL chip strategy guide. Feel free to check our other posts.
