The best world cup fantasy player picks for your FIFA fantasy team -quarter finals
As we go further into the tournament, the number of players we have to pick from reduces and that could be a good thing, as we would have a lot of differentials and we’d also be able to select a good amount of solid players.
This week however, we want to look at some of the players that we think would be great options. Before we do that, let’s take a look at the World Cup quarter finals fixtures:
From the image above, we can see that:
- Netherlands play Argentina
- Brazil face Croatia
- England face France and,
- the winner of Morocco vs Spain would face the Winner of Portugal vs Switzerland
This means that when picking players for this matchday, we want to go for players who are on form and are guaranteed to start. There are no more easy games, so the best move now, would be to go for in-form players.
1. Top World Cup fantasy player picks from Netherlands
Here are some of the best players who are on form and would be great player picks for matchday five in the FIFA fantasy game:
- NOPPERT GOALKEEPER | NETHERLANDS | $4.5M
- DUMFRIES DEFENDER | NETHERLANDS | $6M
- DE JONG MIDFIELDER | NETHERLANDS | $8.5M
- GAKPO FORWARD | NETHERLANDS | $7M
If you’re looking to get in players from the Netherlands, then these are some of the best options. These four players, have amassed a huge amount of FIFA fantasy points and they’ve been instrumental to Netherlands success.
Netherlands have one of the best defense in the tournament and so targeting their defenders might not be a bad idea. But, you have to also keep it in mind that they play Argentina, a team that can score goals.
So, if you’re going for a Netherlands defender, going for their full-backs wouldn’t be a bad idea.
2. Top World Cup fantasy player picks from Argentina
Another really good team that you could get top fantasy assets from, is Argentina. Here are some of the best Argentine players who are on form and would be great player picks for matchday five in the FIFA fantasy game:

If you’re looking to go down the Argentina route, then their forwards are the ones you should be looking to target. Messi and Alvarez would be great picks this matchday.
You could also look to get a defender from their team, Otamendi and Acuna are also good picks. Remember, that you want to select defenders that can either get a goal or assist and that’s why full-backs are good options, as they carry attacking threat.

There’s no doubt that a lot of FIFA fantasy managers would be looking to get in a decent amount of Brazil fantasy assets, after their impressive display against South Korea in matchday four. Here are some fantasy assets you can target from Brazil:

- ALISSON GOALKEEPER | BRAZIL | $6M
- RICHARLISON FORWARD | BRAZIL | $7.5M
- NEYMAR FORWARD | BRAZIL | $10.5M
Brazil are a very good team, which means that targeting their defenders and attackers this matchday could pay off. They play against a Croatia side, that aren’t too attacking and that’s why we think they can keep a clean sheet.
There are so many other differential options you can select from Brazil – PAQUETA, RAPHINHA and VINI JR are also good options.
4. Top World Cup fantasy player picks from Croatia
Croatia are another side that are really good defensively, so if you’re looking to get players from Croatia, then their defenders would not be bad options. Here are some good Croatia player picks:

- PERISIC MIDFIELDER | CROATIA | $7.5M
- KRAMARIC FORWARD | CROATIA | $6M
5. Top World Cup fantasy player picks from France
Another team that played really well in matchday four, was France. However, this matchday, they play a much tougher opponent, in England.
So, if you’re looking to get in fantasy players from France, then going for their attackers, would be a pretty good move. We know that England have enough quality to score a couple against France, that’s why we’re not so keen on their defenders.
Well, here are some really good FIFA fantasy player picks from France:
- GRIEZMANN FORWARD | FRANCE | $8.5M
- MBAPPE FORWARD | FRANCE | $11.5M
- GIROUD FORWARD | FRANCE | $7.5M
- HERNANDEZ DEFENDER | FRANCE | $5M
The French defender we’ve added to our player picks, is Theo Hernandez. That’s because the full-back always overlaps and he’s always involved in decent amount of attacks. The potential for him to get an assist is high, which means he’s a decent option.

8. Top World Cup fantasy player picks from Portugal
Portugal have just won their round of 16 game 5-1; Just like Brazil, a lot of their attackers and midfielders did pretty well. In matchday five however, they play a really solid defensive side, in Morocco.
We won’t be expecting them to score five again, but here are some players that you could pick from Portugal and add to your FIFA fantasy team.
- FERNANDES MIDFIELDER | PORTUGAL | $9.5M
- FELIX FORWARD | PORTUGAL | $8M
- RAMOS FORWARD | PORTUGAL | $6.5M
- GUERREIRO DEFENDER | PORTUGAL | $5M
With Portugal’s assets it’s a bit tricky as there are a lot of solid forwards in other teams that most managers would rather select -it makes the likes of Felix, Leao and Ramos hard to recommend.
However, Bruno Fernandes is a really solid pick and he should be top of your list of Portuguese assets. He has had an attacking return in every game he has started in the World Cup so far.
