Double Gameweek 27 Free Hit Team

Double gameweek 27 free hit team

Gameweek 27 is now a double gameweek and a blank gameweek. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal all blank in gameweek 27 while Burnley play Crystal Palace and Leicester in what is going to be a double gameweek for them. There’s- more need to play the free hit chip now.

As stated in our FPL chip strategy guide, gameweek 27, was when we decided we’d play our free hit chip. We’d be creating our double gameweek 27 free hit team in this blog post.

Why you might want to Free hit in gameweek 27

If your current team contains three Liverpool and three Arsenal assets, then free hitting in gameweek 27 is a good option. The free hit allows you to get past the blank gameweeks for Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea and also lets you bring in assets with double gameweeks.

Since we planned to play our free hit in double gameweek 27, we’d be sharing our double gameweek 27 free hit teams.

If you’re an FPL manager looking to play your wildcard in gameweek 27 feel free to check this post

What teams have a double gameweek in gameweek 27

In gameweek 27 Burnley are the only team with a double gameweek they face Crystal Palace and Leicester city.

Creating our double gameweek 27 free hit team

In this free hit team, we’d be targeting teams that have good fixtures, Burnley assets- as they are the only ones who have a double gameweek, and players who are on form.

Let’s get right into it.

Double gameweek 27 free hit team: Goal keepers

Nick Pope

There is no other better option than Nick Pope in gameweek 27. The Burnley man is up against Crystal Palace and Leicester City this gameweek.

Nick Pope is a good option in goal the Burnley shot-stopper has made 64 saves so far this season and has collected eight bonus points which is the fourth highest amongst FPL keepers.

Burnley is a team capable of keeping clean sheets- they have kept six clean sheets so far this season.

Nick Pope would be the goalkeeper in our gameweek 27 free hit team, and we’d be hoping he can keep a clean sheet and get a couple of bonus points.

Livramento

In this free hit team in double gameweek 27, there would be a couple of Southampton players- because Southampton play Norwich, which makes Livramento a good pick.

Livramento has been a good FPL player this season. The Southampton full-back has kept a couple of clean sheets and popped up with a few assists.

Southampton play against Norwich, the lowest-scoring team in the premier league division. Norwich has scored only 15 goals all season and are averaging 0.6 goals a game which is pretty low and increases the chances of Livarmento getting a clean sheet.

Defensively, Norwich hasn’t been great either. Norwich has conceded 53 goals this season and are conceding an average of 2.1 goals a match. It’s is hard to not include Livramento in our free hit team as the full-back could easily get a clean sheet and an assist or even a goal against Norwich.

Joao Cancelo

Joao Cancelo is a player in virtually all FPL teams. The Man city full-back has picked up a total of 142 points this season which is the second highest amongst defenders(Only Trent has collected more points amongst FPL defenders),

He has a total of nine goal involvement so this season- scoring one goal and assisting 8. He is the defenders who carries the most goal scoring threat in FPL this season. He is a gem of an FPL asset.

A player whom Pep Guardiola trusts- only Man city’s goalkeeper has played more minutes than Cancelo this season. He seems to be oone of the first names on the team sheet for Man city.

Ruben Dias

Dias is a player whom you can rely on to keep a clean sheet, score a goal or even get an assist he has been consistent this season for Man city.

Man city have kept 14 clean sheets so far this season which is the most of any team in the division that’s why we’d be doubling up on City’s defence with Cancelo and Dias.

Ruben Dias has proved this season that he is not just a defender who gives clean sheet points- this season Dias has scored two goals and assisted three.

City come up against Everton in gameweek 27. Everton are a side that has been struggling to get goals. This season they’ve scored 28 goals and are averaging 1.22 goals per match.

It looks like a game where Man city would keep a clean sheet.

Ashley Westwood

Ashley Westwood has created the most big chances (5) amongst Burnley’s assets. Burnley is a team that is dangerous with set-pieces, and Ashley Westwood is the man who takes corners and indirect free kicks for Burnley.

Double gameweek 27 free hit team stats

Leicester, on the other hand, are terrible when it comes to defending set-pieces. They’ve conceded 19 goals from set-pieces with five of those being penalties. For that reason, Ashley Westwood would be in our double gameweek 27 wildcard draft.

It’s a difficult pick between Westwood, Mcneil, and Cornet. We’d be going for Westwood in our double gameweek 27 free hit team just because of his set-piece duties.

Amado Broja

The saints’ man has been one of the go-to strikers in recent times and, that could be because he is a cheap FPL striker who is on form. Amado Broja is valued at 5.3 million and has a 9.2% ownership.

Southampton face Norwich in gameweek 27, a side that has conceded 53 goals so far this season (Norwich is conceding 2.1 goals per match). Southampton and Broja would be looking to capitalize on that.

When it comes to value for money, Amado Broja is up there. The saint’s forward has scored six goals this season. He has been in decent form in recent weeks, and that would give him a place in our gameweek 27 free hit team.

Strikers have been hard to pick this season, with premium assets failing to produce consistently. Another decent Amado Broja alternative pick for your double gameweek 27 free hit team would be Che Adams.

The Southampton striker is the most in-form striker in FPL and is owned by only 2.3% of FPL managers. In his last three games, he has scored twice and assisted once. He is a good asset to consider if you’re looking for a differential to add in your double gameweek 27 free hit team.

James Ward-prowse

Southampton has some easy fixtures coming up with the saints facing Norwich, Villa, Watford, and, Burnley which makes their asset long term picks, and if you’re looking for a differential asset not just for your double gameweek 27 free hit team but for upcoming gameweeks, James Ward Prowse is one to consider.

These days one of the things FPL managers do before picking an asset is to check if he’s on corners, free kicks, or penalties. With James Ward-Prowse, there’s no need to worry because you’re getting a set-piece specialist.

He has scored 12 free-kicks in the English top-flight, only David Beckham has scored more- 18. The Saints midfielder is valued at £6.3M and is owned by only 3.4% of FPL managers.

This season, his six goals are the most for the team, and he tops the charts for the most chances created, most points per game (4.1), and total points for Southampton this season.

Riyad Mahrez

For a Man city player who has13 goal involvement in the premier league this season to be owned by just 4.0% of  FPL managers is shocking.

Man city face Everton in gameweek 27 a game they need to win after a they suffered a defeat to Spurs last time out. And Mahrez looks like he’d be starting this game after he came off the bench against Spurs.

One other good thing about Mahrez is his penalty duty the winger- has scored all four penalties he has taken this season– he has not missed a penalty for Man city since his miss against Liverpool a few seasons ago.

With ownership of 4.0% he would be a good differential FPL pick for gameweek 27.

Wout Weghorst

Burnley’s new signing Weghorst has looked pretty good in the premier league this season and already has two assists and a goal to his name in four appearances.

Weghorst has come against Liverpool and Man United already this season and has played well in both games. He is a player that passes the eye test- a strong, physical goal poacher that would most likely score goals.

Burnley comes up against Crystal Palace and Leicester in gameweek 27, two teams that rarely keep clean sheets. Burnley, on the other hand, looks like a more attacking side with good attacking displays against Man United, Liverpool, and Brighton in recent times, you’d fancy them to get a couple of goals against Palace and Leicester.

Wout Weghorst(6.5 million), I’d say he’s worth bringing into your double gameweek 27 free hit team not just for gameweek 27 but for the rest of the season.
